Established in 2007, DARKON is dedicated to the local design and fabrication of a comprehensive range of proprietary extruded aluminium profiles, architectural downlights, as well as a decorative lighting catalogue designed by Director, Dean Phillips. 100% Australian owned, Darkon focuses its activities in the manufacture of high-quality specialist lighting for a diverse range of applications, ranging from commercial and government projects, to supply into the residential, retail, health and education sectors.
Darkon is a highly dynamic company which has distinguished itself with innovative, quality lighting for major projects and businesses, including lighting of Flinders Street Train Station façade with Development Victoria, Melbourne Airport T2, National Flagpoles Canberra, Eastland Shopping Centre, Geelong Library, The University of Queensland and The Joan Kirner Hospital, among others.
Darkon currently operates from three separate premises in Collingwood, Melbourne; -a laser cutting facility, down-light production workshop, and head office and main factory, as well as having a dedicated Sydney office and showroom. A highly skilled workforce is supported interstate and internationally by a network of established distributing Agents who represent the brand with professional expertise, locally.

The product design process is driven by a ‘universal design’ philosophy which accommodates the ability to interchange mounting applications across product families and facilitate backwards integration of generational upgrades in electrical technology. Acquisition of an ‘Everfine’ goniophotometer in 2015 accommodates industry demand for current absolute photometry data files.
